The Yebumot-Adeta road is named after retired Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Abdullahi Adangba, while the Adeta-Oloje road is rechristened “Sheikh Yahya Murtadha Agodi” in honour of a late prominent Muslim scholar.

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says his administration has fulfilled the social contract with Kwara residents through the deployment of resources to the state’s infrastructure and socio-economic development.

AbdulRazaq stated this during the official commissioning of the 4.779 kilometres’ Yebumot-Adeta-Oloje road in the Ilorin west local government larea of the state.

He said: “One of the social contracts we have with the people is to deploy resources to improve the condition of living through the provision of infrastructure.

”I believe we have done that as it should be.”

The governor renamed the roads after two giants from Ilorin, in recognition of their contributions to growth and the prestige of the capital city.

The Yebumot-Adeta road is named after retired Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Abdullahi Adangba, while the Adeta-Oloje road is rechristened “Sheikh Yahya Murtadha Agodi” in honour of a late prominent Muslim scholar.

AbdulRazaq pointed out that the launching of the Yebumot-Adeta-Oloje road satisfies the key objectives of development, especially in social and economic terms.

“Time will be reduced within the axis, volume of trade will rise, the value of properties will appreciate, and quality of life will be enhanced, among other benefits we can think of.

“I thank the people of this community for their patience while the job lasted.

”We acknowledge the difficulties that came with the delays associated with sudden inflationary trends and the renegotiation of the terms of contract, among other challenges.

“I urge community folks to take responsibility for public facilities, as the Ministry of Works and Transport will continue to enlighten the people about road management and a need for everyone to own and protect public infrastructures in their domain.

“On that note, I inaugurate the Yebumot-Adeta-Oloje road for the benefit of our people and in continuation of our efforts to deepen socio-economic growth,” the governor said.

AbdulRazaq, who is also the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), also used the event to officially commission the multi-billion Naira Flower Garden Relaxation Centre in Ilorin.

The state’s Commissioner for Works and Transport, AbdulQuawiy Olododo, appreciated the governor for his vision for a modern Kwara and his continuous support for his Ministry to discharge its responsibilities.

“This project is more than just a road. It is a symbol of progress, a testament to this administration’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development, and a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

“This road is more than just a transportation artery. It is a lifeline connecting our people, businesses, and communities.

”It is a catalyst for economic growth and sustainable development and a symbol of our unrelenting pursuit of excellence,” Olododo said.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who was represented by the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr Abubakar Usman, applauded AbdulRazaq for his impactful projects and programmes.
