The Traditional Ruler, Odo-Noforija in Epe Division, Lagos, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, has urged local vigilantes to improve security surveillance across communities ahead of the yuletide period.
Ogunlaja gave the advice during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Noforija-Epe, on Thursday.
He said the plea was necessary to enable travellers to enjoy their stay in the village during the yuletide period.
According to him, nefarious people utilise the season to perpetrate their evil acts.
“We will not entertain such an ungodly act in our community, hence, it requires us to challenge our neighbourhood watch to be alert at all times,” he said.
The traditional ruler appealed to security agencies to support local vigilantes in securing the communities and immediate environment, stressing that local vigilantes cannot do it alone.
