2 UNIOSUN students receive WAPCo scholarships

Two medical students in the College of Health Sciences, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), have received the West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) prestigious scholarship awards .

This is contained in a statement issued by the institution’ s Public Relations Officer , Mr Ademola Adesoji, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

The statement identified the awardees as Akande Oluwadamilare and Efuwape Seseyon , both from the Department of Medicine and Surgery .

It stated that each beneficiary received N470, 400 scholarship each from WAPCo for the 2023/2024 academic session .

The statement quotes Dr Isaac Doku , the General Manager of WAPCo as saying that the selection of the duo was based on their academic performances.

” The scholarship fund is designated to cover various educational expenses including tuition fees , books, and other ancillary costs.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Prof. Ayo Adebooye , appreciated WAPCo for the generous gesture to the university while congratulating the deserving recipients.

Adebooye said such awards would further fortify the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence.

He underscored the significance of acknowledging and rewarding academic excellence , which he described as a catalyst for other students in reaching the heights of their various respective careers.

Ayo also reiterated the university’s unwavering commitment to nurturing a culture that would encourage continuous learning and achievement.
