Abduction: Unilorin is safe – Management
According to him, the management of the Unilorin viewed with grave concern last weekend’s story about one of its students (Moyosore) of being kidnapped as a ruse and figment of the imagination of the rumour mongers.
The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) has declared that the institution is safe for all academic and non-academic activities.
The management of Unilorin said this on Monday in a statement denying any kidnapping attempt on one of it’s students, Moyosore Bright, a 100L Zoology student in the Faculty of Life Sciences.
Mr. Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, made this known while reacting to rumours that one of its students was purported to have been kidnapped.
According to him, the management of the Unilorin viewed with grave concern last weekend’s story about one of its students (Moyosore) being kidnapped as a ruse and figment of the imagination of the rumour mongers.
He said: “It is important to state that the said student is hale and hearty, and her purported abduction was a ruse and figment of the imagination of the rumour mongers.
“The management assures the public that its campus is safe for learning, research and community service, in pursuit of its tripartite mandate”.
Supreme News reports that the Zoology student from the university was rumoured to have been kidnapped but escaped.
Akogun explained that nothing like that took place, adding that the student met with the management of the institution and had already resumed classes.
