British firm extols new Pro-Chancellor, Federal University, Dutse as visionary

Prof. Shuaibu Abdulraheem, the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Jigawa, has been described as a visionary leader with huge experience in charismatic and democratic leadership.

This encomium was poured by Dr. Alim Abubakre, the British-Nigerian founder of TEXEM UK, a United Kingdom-based leadership development firm, in a statement in Abuja.

Abubakre said that in the halls of fame of academia and public service, certain individuals stand out for their exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication.

He said one of such individuals is Abdulraheem, a man of immense vision and integrity, just appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the of the Governing Council of the Federal University.

“As the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the of the Governing Council of the Federal University, Dutse, Prof. Abdulraheem brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision that will undoubtedly propel the institution to new heights.

He said that Abdulraheem’s appointment is not just a testament to his past achievements but a beacon of hope for the future.

“Prof. Abdulraheem’s appointment is a celebration of strategic leadership at its finest.

He said the Pro-Chancellor’s proactive and reflective nature, combined with a deep sense of altruism and authenticity, have made him a trustworthy and influential figure in both academic and public spheres.

The TEXEM founder added that Abdulraheem’s ability to navigate complex challenges with pragmatic and adaptive solutions speaks to his resourcefulness and foresight.

Prof. Abdulraheem’s illustrious career began with his foundational training at St. Malachy’s College, Minna, where he obtained his Teacher’s Grade 2 Certificate in 1968.

His journey continued at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), where his exemplary academic performance earned him a position on the academic staff and set the stage for a career marked by resilience and dedication.

In 1976, after his Bachelor of Arts degree at ABU, he earned a prestigious British Council Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue a Master of Arts degree at the University of Sheffield in the U.K.

His pursuit of knowledge knew no bounds, as he also secured a Postgraduate Scholarship from the Federal Government of Nigeria (1977/78) to further his studies towards a Ph.D. degree.

His commitment and excellence did not go unnoticed, and the scholarship was revalidated, enabling him to return to the U.K. in 1979, this time to the University of Kent at Canterbury.

With perseverance and brilliance, he achieved his Ph.D. in July 1982.

His trajectory from a promising scholar to a transformative leader is a testament to his visionary and strategic approach.

Abdulraheem’s tenure as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin was marked by significant advancements, including an unprecedented improvement in internally generated revenue of 800 percent.

According to the statement, his innovative and goal-oriented strategies foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and high academic standards.
