Unilorin alumni offers 75-capacity seat-out to Faculty

In his remarks, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, the Vice Chancellor of Unilorin, appreciated the 1992 set of the Faculty for coming back after 30 years of graduation to give back to their alma mater.

The 1992 set of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin (Unilorin), has donated a 75-seater bench to their faculty to enhance learning.

Alhaji Bayo Busari, the chairman of the set, who spoke at the presentation, thanked Allah for His grace and called on the university to accept the donation as a token.

While promising that the alumni will do more in the future, Busari pointed out that 36 of the 110 former students in the set were present at the event, disclosing that six members of the set had passed on.

In his remarks, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, the Vice Chancellor of Unilorin, appreciated the 1992 class of the Faculty for coming back after 30 years of graduation to give back to their alma mater.

Egbewole, however, called on other sets to borrow a leaf from the 1992 set and other previous donors by responding positively to the needs of their faculties.

He added that the gesture would serve as a motivation to other sets to donate materials and equipment that could create a positive drive in training students.

Prof. Olayinka Karim, the Dean of the Faculty, noted that the 1989, 1992, and 1994 sets have been of great assistance to the Faculty for their generous contributions in several capacities to uplift the standard of the Faculty.

Karim also called on other alumni of the faculty to emulate the gesture of the donors and give back to the citadel of learning that molded them to their present status.

Also speaking on behalf of the students of the faculty, the president of the National Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS), Unilorin Chapter, Mr. Aromoye Abdullateef, appreciated the 1992 alumni of the faculty and assured all present that the seat-out will be put to proper use.
