The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has urged youths in the Southeast, in particular, to remain optimistic and steadfast while looking forward to a brighter future as they start the new year.
The NYCN Acting Vice President, Southeast, Mr Izunna Agwuncha, made the call in a New Year statement made available to newsmen in Owerri on Wednesday.
Agwuncha said that NYCN remained optimistic that Nigeria had come a long way and had reasons to hope for a brighter future for all.
“In spite of its challenges, we believe in the Nigerian project of building blocks for national unity and progress.
“2025 which has been described by many as the jubilee year will not come without a glimmer of hope and positive developments for all and sundry.
“We call on all the Southeast youths to focus and consolidate on the positive gains of 2024 and build on these as we continue to work toward a sustainable future for all in 2025,” he said.
He urged the youths not to be deterred by failed expectations but to approach the New Year with faith anchored on renewed hope, and optimism.
