Court docked businessman for allegedly defiling 13-year-old girl

Ayodele said Alabi lured the minor into his room when he discovered that her parents had gone out and defiled her.

A Badagry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered that a45-year-old businessman, Biliaminu Alabi, be remanded in Awajighor Correctional Center for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

Magistrate T.A. Popoola, who did not take Alabi's plea, ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Popoola adjourned the case until Sept. 6 for mention.

The police charged Alabi with defilement.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that Alabi committed the offense on June 18 at 5 p.m. in the Iworo area of Badagry, Lagos.

Ayodele said Alabi lured the minor into his room when he discovered that her parents had gone out and defiled her.

He said that the offense contravenedthe provisions of sections 261, 263, and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
