Woman drags agent to court over alleged land fraud.

A middle-aged woman, Ummulkhairi Abubakar, on Monday, dragged a land agent, Abdullahi Abubakar, before a Shari’a Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, over alleged fraud.
The complainant told the court that the defendant sold her a plot of land in April 2024, which later turned out to be government property.
“I asked him about the authenticity of the land, and he assured me there was no problem.
“However, a few months later, people started warning me that the land belonged to the government.
“Despite several attempts to recover my money, the accused has refused to refund me,” she told the court.
She urged the court to either compel the defendant to return her money or provide her with a genuine plot of land of equal value.
Presiding Judge, Malam Kabir Muhammad, asked if the complainant had witnesses to confirm that the land was not legitimate, to which she responded affirmatively.
The judge then referred the case to the police for further investigation and adjourned the hearing until April 17.
