Building strong institutions remains a priority for me, says Makinde
The governor explained that his administration’s decision to embark on massive infrastructure development was predicated on the fact that there was an infrastructure deficit in the state.
Gov. Seyi Makinde on Wednesday said building strong institutions that would guarantee good governance remains a priority of his administration.
Makinde stated this while hosting leaders of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) in Ibadan, adding that building such institutions would make the state continue to thrive.
“My administration will therefore not only be remembered for building infrastructure across the state but also for putting in place strong institutions,” he said.
The governor explained that his administration’s decision to embark on massive infrastructure development was predicated on the fact that there was an infrastructure deficit in the state.
Speaking on the forthcoming Ondo state governorship election, Makinde rallied support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Agboola Ajayi.
He noted that even though any election should not be a do-or-die affair, he urged the electoral umpire to allow the people’s votes to count.
The governor also declared that his government would support MUSWEN’s conference, scheduled to hold in Ibadan on Sunday.
Speaking earlier, MUSWEN’s president, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, lauded the governor for infrastructure development strides across the state.
Oladejo noted that the governor’s actions had always shown his steadfastness and commitment to the well-being of his people.
