The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), The Harvest Centre Parish, Ikorodu, Lagos, on Tuesday ordained one deacon and four deaconesses to sustain evangelism.

The Church also tasked the ordained persons — Deacon Tunde Oretuyi, Deaconesses Tomi Obaseeke, Kemi Iwalesin, Margret Yusuf, and Ebunoluwa Olorunoje — with expanding its evangelism mandate, especially in reforming youths.

Supreme News reports that the ordination was part of activities to mark the church’s 2024 convention, which being heralded with 92 days of prayer and fasting.

The theme of the convention is: “Builders and Re-builders”.

It is holding at Ikorodu, Lagos, and aimed at repositioning the church and reviving the Kingdom spirit in the faithful.

Speaking at the event which convened worshippers from across the state, the Shepherd of the Church, Prophet Wale Ojo, said the ordained persons had undergone scrutiny and had been found worthy.

Ojo, who prayed and consecrated the faithful alongside Pastor Jacob Ademola, said that God had a way of choosing His servants, which might be strange to ordinary people.

According to him, the harvest has been large while the harvesters have remained few.

“With your commission, it is expected that you prove God right by putting in your very best.

“The youth ministry is your scope; make sure that youths are attuned to the teachings of the scriptures, for the leadership of the Church and society will rest in their hands soon,” he said.

Adekola, who anointed them with oil, thanked God for finding them worthy to serve and described kingdom work as noble.

He tasked them to always be of good conduct and to remain endearing to the people.

He blessed them, breathed the spirit of oratory and eloquence of the gospel into them, and asked them to go forth and prosper.

In her remarks, Yusuf, one of the deaconesses,  said that it had been her dream to preach the gospel, saying that having been assigned to the youth ministry, she would explore it with utmost diligence.
