Nwafor said the trade fair was an opportunity for air transport operators, users, the Anambra public, and businesses to meet, interact, buy, sell, and make contacts for future purposes. at an international level.
He said the trade fair was part of the non-aeronautical services meant to impact businesses directly, assuring that it was going to run for as long as this airport existed.
Nwafor said it was also an opportunity to market the airport and showcase to the world the visibility of the Anambra economy while calling on travellers to take time to explore and patronise the opportunities at the fair.
According to him, we have been here for three years, but some people don’t know that we exist here; this trade fair is a step towards our mission to build an aerotropolis.
“I want to thank Gov. Chukwuma Soludo and the Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike, through whom the governor gave us this idea and approval.
“We are starting at the car park now, but subsequently, it shall be taking place in our aerotropolis,” he said.
Declaring the Airport Trade Fair open, Igwebuike said the Chinua Achebe Airport was strategic to the government of Anambra and that the governor was giving it all the attention it deserved.
The commissioner said the government was inviting businesses and investors to key into the airport economy and enjoy the benefits of international business opportunities.
“Most of the businesses on display have Anambra origin; you are being exposed to the international market; people will be buying in large quantities.
*As a government, we are working hard to build an aetropolis, and we encourage the exhibitors and other businesses to join us,” she said.
Supreme News reports that items exhibited at the events were largely products made in Anambra, including automobiles, beverages, and poly product beauty products, among others.
