AMGA 2024: Nigeria, Cameroon renew rivalry in crucial men’s football semi-final

The draw pitted Nigeria Armed forces against the Armed forces of Cameroon.

Fierce rivals and giants of African men’s football, Nigeria and Cameroon will confront each other in the penultimate round of the ongoing 2024 Africa Military Games (AMGA) in Abuja.

Supreme News reports that a total of four countries; Algeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and host Nigeria are participating in the 2024 AMGA men’s football event.

The draw was conducted by Brig.-Gen. Brahima Diabate, the Head of Football Commission, Organisation for Military Sports in Africa.

Diabete was assisted by Brig.-Gen. O.A. Fawsley, Chairman, Football event, AMGA, Abuja 2024 on Thursday at the media centre of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

The draw pitted Nigeria Armed forces against the Armed forces of Cameroon.

Both teams will renew their football rivalry in the first game billed for 4p.m. at the main bowl of the stadium.

The second game comes up by 6 p.m. between Algeria and Equatorial Guinean Armed Forces.

Algerian international referee Benyahia Houssam will officiate the Cameroon versus Nigeria match, with Capilaine Kedem Brice of Equatorial Guinea serving as Match Commissioner.

Nigerian Referee Abdullahi Abubakar is the central referee for the second game.

The winners of both matches will clash in Saturday’s blockbuster final to decide the champion of the men’s football event.

The 2nd edition of the Africa Military Games which began on Monday with no fewer than 20 countries participating will end on Nov. 30.
