Banker commits suicide inside toilet, gives reasons

Amarachi Ugochukwu, 32, committed suicide by entering the bank staff toilet with a sniper, according to the Lagos State Police Command. An investigation has been initiated into her case.

Coworkers discovered a suicide note she had left for her parents and siblings alongside her remains.

Reports indicate that the incident was reported to the police by Robert Hosharma, the superintendent of Globus Bank in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Hosharma filed a report of the incident at approximately 4:00 pm on January 8, 2024, which was additionally specified as the date of occurrence.

However, the bank manager explained that the lady's corpse was discovered around 1:00 p.m.

Ugochuwu bequeathed her parents and siblings a diary.

According to a Police Situation Report, the manager of Globus Bank Ikorodu reported that around 1:00 pm on January 8, 2024, the body of Amarachi Ugochukwu, 32, a member of the bank's marketing staff, was discovered in the staff toilet.

"Additionally, the complainant stated that the deceased Amarachi Ugochukwu had neglected to answer her phone, which continued to ring on her table,"

"As a consequence, her colleagues began searching for her." During the search for her, it was discovered that one of the office toilet doors was locked and was forcibly opened; upon inspection, a diary and an empty medium-sized bottle that appeared to have been stolen were discovered alongside her motionless corpse.

"Additionally, the complainant stated that an ambulance was dispatched immediately; however, her demise was confirmed, hence the report." Investigation and action are initiated. As detectives examined the location, photographs were obtained.

With the assistance of her family, the remains were extricated and transported to Ikorodu General Hospital for a postmortem and preservation.

Additionally, Ugochukwu penned on a sheet of paper discovered by her side, "Nothing is working in my life.

“My figures are cold.

“My brain is clogged up.

“The economy is getting harder.

“My decisions are wrong.

“My mind is messed up.

“The future doesn’t seem bright at all, o see extreme hardship I can’t bear the pain anymore.

“I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry Meme, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya.

“Dear Lord have mercy on me!”
