Breaking: INEC reveals list of 93.4 million registered voters

The Occupational Distribution shows that students have the highest number of voters (26, 027, 481 or 27.8%), while farmers and fishermen/women have 14, 742, 554 or 15.8%.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided the 18 registered political parties in Nigeria with the total number of registered voters for the elections, which are less than two months away.


The Registered Voters list was handed over to the representatives of all the political parties by INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu at a meeting with political parties held at the Commission’s Conference Hall, Maitama, Abuja on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.



 A closer examination at the Registered Voters list reveals that 49, 054, 162 of the 93, 469, 008 people on the register are male, while 44, 414, 846 are female.


However, the Voter Distribution shows that males accounted for 52.5% and females accounted for 47.5%, while the Occupational Distribution shows that students have the highest number of voters (26, 027, 481 or 27.8%), while farmers and fishermen/women have 14, 742, 554 or 15.8%.


According to Supreme, in the Age Group, Youths (18-34) led with 37, 060, 399 or 39.65% registered voters, followed by Middle-Ages (35-49) with 33, 413, 591 or 35.75%.
