JUST IN: APC Confirms Adamu's Resignation, Announces Acting Chairman
Kyari, the son of the late Brigadier Abba Kyari, a former military administrator of the North Central region from 1967 to 1975, was born in Borno State on January 15, 1960.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (North) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is acting National Chairman of the ruling party.
This follows the confirmation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu's resignation as the party's national chairman.
In accordance with the party's constitution, if a national chairman resigns, the zone's vice national chairman would assume an interim role.
Kyari led some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) into a meeting that is presently taking place at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, amidst tight security.
Kyari was accompanied by the following individuals: Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North-West), Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North-East), Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman (South-West), Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South-East), Ejoroma Arodiogu; and Deputy National Secretary, Barr.
