Lawmaker constructs bridge worth N5m in Nasarawa
The bridge will connect communities in order to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
Mr Solomon Akwashiki, who represents Lafia Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has built a N5 million bridge at Agyaragu in Lafia Local Government Area of the State.
This, he said, was to link communities in the area, thereby boosting agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people
Akwashiki, Chairman, House Committee on Public Account, while inaugurating the Agyaragu bridge on Friday,
said that the construction of the bridge was to address the plight of the locals and to fulfill his campaign promises.
“The bridge will connect communities in order to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
“This will in turn boost the revenue base of the people of the area and the state at large,” he said.
“The need for this bridge has been a nightmare of the people for some times now,” he added.
He said he would continue to embark on projects with direct bearing on the lives of the rural dwellers.
Besides, the lawmaker disclosed that ahead of the celebration to mark his one year in office, plans have been completed to inaugurate projects he embarked on in villages and towns in Lafia Central constituency.
He said he was much aware of the sufferings the rural dwellers are facing and is committed to providing assistance to them in order to improve on their standard of living.
Akwashiki said that politicking is over and it is now time for governance while calling on the people to support him to succeed.
The lawmaker assured of continuous good and sound representation at the state assembly.
Akwashiki urged the people of the area and the state at large to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their party affiliations.
Responding, the Village Head of Agyaragu, Mr Salihu Angulu, commended the lawmaker for coming to the rescue of his people by constructing the bridge.
He revealed that the bridge before now has been an obstacle to them praying God to reward Akwashiki abundantly.
