VeryDarkMan arrested for donning Police uniform
But VeryDarkMan, had on Wednesday apologised to the Nigeria Police Force following the release of a viral video in which he wore a costume resembling a police uniform and introduced himself as the “CSP of the Online Division.”
Social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been detained by police for allegedly using their uniform without authorization.
According to a friend, the popular figure is set to face charges in court tomorrow.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which has raised concerns about impersonation and public safety.
But VeryDarkMan, had on Wednesday apologised to the Nigeria Police Force following the release of a viral video in which he wore a costume resembling a police uniform and introduced himself as the “CSP of the Online Division.”
In a video and statement shared on his Instagram account on Wednesday, VeryDarkMan explained that he had just returned from the police station, where he was questioned about the video.
He stated that the experience had taught him some lessons.
He said, “I learned a few things. We learn every day. I made my video and said CSP. What I meant was Chief Social Media Person; however, the Nigeria Police has a rank called Chief Superintendent of Police. They also pointed out that the uniform I was wearing is similar to that of the Nigerian Police.”
VeryDarkMan clarified that he had no intention of impersonating the police as he apologised to the Nigeria Police Force and the office of the Inspector General of Police.
