Unemployed man docked for allegedly assaulting neighbour, children
The Prosecution Counsel, Ade Adeyanju, told the court that the defendant tormented the complainant and her children with noise and as a result, engaged her in a fight causing and disturbing public peace.
Unemployed man, Sunday Ajeh, was on Monday docked at a Grade I Area Court, Karu, Abuja, for allegedly beating up his neighbour and her children.
The police charged Ajeh, 37, of Kurudu, Abuja with criminal force, causing hurt, assault and disturbance of public peace.
Ajeh, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Ade Adeyanju, told the court that the defendant tormented the complainant and her children with noise and as a result, engaged her in a fight causing and disturbing public peace.
Adeyanju said during the fight the complainant sustained injuries on her face.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Umar Mayana, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two reasonable sureties.
Mayana ordered that the sureties must submit their statement of account to the court registry and residential address verified by the court and police personnel.
The judge adjourned the case until April 24 for further hearing.
